i have no fucks left!!! here's the shit i've been working on!!!!

for the past oh idk 5 years (???) i've found it increasingly difficult to write and structure songs. while i'd still be writing guitar parts, vocals and lyrics eventually became alien to me and in many ways they still do feel that way. got sick of centralising myself, eventually tried to convert the project into a band of contributing songwriters but that never quite worked out. and then the pandemic happened and i basically went "yep nope, sick of this"

in that time i've been playing guitar in a few bands where i've not been doing vocals/lyrics and that has felt liberating, being able to do what i feel best at: writing songs. conceptually, that to me felt like it made more sense than indulging in some front person role that is ultimately taken when one sings and uses words. however, i've found that the redux of the project just never happened - i'm never close to people enough and brits aren't naturally creative so it's not like it was going to happen organically. basically, if i didn't want to waste the song ideas, i'd have to just try again.

that took a long time (basically 3 years), for it to feel even like a thing i could do again. i'm still more interested in co-operative models of songwriting but until i meet someone who wants to take the narrative part out of my hands, i'll be trying again but this time under Eliots Graveyard just to reinforce the point to myself.

last time i checked i had about 30 odd songs/parts that needed work. the collection here is a V rough consolidation of those songs, some of which are only a few months old. there's also a cover. apologies if it all sounds like shit but frankly if i don't do it this way i'll not end up doing anything with 'em.
